Red Ochre® was first introduced to the Australian consumers in 1992. The vision was to develop an authentic cuisine that Australians could proudly call their own. Success on the domestic and export market with our innovative Red Ochre® range of food products has seen the company establish a strong customer base.
In 2008 Red Ochre® was purchased by Pendleton Fine Foods, South Australia.
Pendleton Fine Foods is owned by the Grant Wylie family, and has a 70 year tradition in farming, food processing, restaurants and supplying premium quality foods.
Building on Red Ochre's success and Pendleton's farming expertise, we will be proudly introducing an increased range of unique Australian flavoured products in the coming months.
The Name Red Ochre® – The story behind the Name
Over time the demand for the innovative flavours and tastes from the Restaurant saw the genesis of Red Ochre Produce to supply the retail consumer with some of the flavours to use in their own home. Success on the domestic and market with our innovative Red Ochre® range of food products has seen the company establish a strong customer base.
Red Ochre Produce's vision includes developing Australian flavours and tastes that will become an established part of the Australian culture. Therefore all Red Ochre’s products primary flavours are developed from native Australian plants such as Bush Tomato, Lemon Myrtle , Wild Limes to give them a unique Australian flavour.
Red Ochre Produce's innovative ranges of food products are marketed under the popular Red Ochre® brand.
Red Ochre chose its name to represent those things close to the heart of Australia. Pronounced "Red Oak-er", Red Ochre is the name for a striking red clay used by Indigenous Australians for body painting in ritual and celebration ceremonies. It is a traditional (and powerful) symbol of health and happiness and has its own dreamtime story that describes the formation of the clay pits which are found in the centre of Australia.
Red Ochre Produce's innovative ranges of food products are marketed under the popular Red Ochre® brand.
